Vegan Hot Chocolate

Why I love it

This hot chocolate is perfect for a ski trip or just snuggling inside. I’ll even drink this in the summertime (don’t tell anyone). This recipe proves how easy it is to have homemade hot chocolate in minutes! You’ll never want to go back to the packaged kind. The richness of the chocolate paired with the sweetness of the sugar is such a treat. Serve this with a vegan cake or vegan donut and you will thank yourself! This is the hottest chocolate on the block.

Ingredients

•1 cup unsweetened plant milk

•1 cup water

•2 tbsps cocoa powder

•2 tbsps granulated sugar

•1/2 cup dairy-free chocolate chips (I used Enjoy Life Food’s)

•1 tsp vanilla extract

•Pinch of salt

Replacements

You can use a liquid sweetener such as maple syrup or agave instead of granulated sugar.

Recipe

1. Add the plant milk, water, cocoa powder, sugar, and chocolate chips to a large pot on the stove and heat until warm, do not let it come to a boil.

2. Take off the heat and stir in the vanilla and salt.

3. Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings. Enjoy!
