Why I love it

Don’t listen to what anyone tells you, homemade granola is WAY better than store bought. This recipe has simple staple ingredients that everyone would have, even non-vegans. This flavor is absolutely to die for. The salt balances out the chocolate perfectly. If you’re a granola child, you’ll love this homemade version.

Ingredients

•1 1/2 cups rolled oats

•1/2 cup chopped nuts or seeds (I used almonds and pumpkin seeds)

•2 tbsps cacao powder (I used Better Body Foods)

•1/3 cup dairy free chocolate chunks/chips (I used Enjoy Life Foods)

•1 tsp sea salt

Replacements

You can substitute agave for maple syrup and adjust the amount of nuts and seeds to your preference.

Recipe

1. Preheat your oven to 350 F.

2. Pulse the oats and nuts/seeds in a food processor a couple times for different textures. Add these to a bowl.

3. Melt the coconut oil in a pan on the stove, then stir in the maple syrup and vanilla. Then, add in the cacao powder and salt and cook until it reaches thick paste consistency.

4. Pour over the oats and stir. Add the oats onto a parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes. When you take it out it won’t be crunchy, but when you let it sit it will, and it’ll be amazing. Wait until it cools and fold in the chocolate chunks/chips. Enjoy!
